Nest Bonds
The Nest Bonds are a fantastic way to support artists’ residencies at The Nest. They have been designed by Coventry-based artists Janet Tryner, Michael Snodgrass and Frances Yeung, and have been lovingly printed by Kate Rossin at Commonground on Alga Carta (yes that is paper made of algae!).
Our Nest Residencies aim to give time and space to artists to explore an idea which is not funding-bid-ready. Perhaps something that’s been buzzing around in their head for a while, or an idea which interests them but doesn’t quite have a shape yet.
We provide residents with a dedicated studio space, a fee to over their time and appropriate mentoring (if required, or just creative conversations – someone to bounce something off, if not).
A proportion of our funding from Arts Council England supports these residencies but we also need to fundraise – the more we can raise, the more locally-based artists we can support. Buying a Nest Bond (or 3!) directly supports this work.

Each purchase of these limited edition Nest Bonds (in denominations of £10, £20 or £30) invests in, and helps support, residencies for locally-based artists at The Nest.
The Bonds were also created to mark Talking Birds’ 30th Anniversary of making work in Coventry, and the embossed stamp includes 92 – 22 to recognise this fact.
